RIVER PARK RESERVE

Public BBQ

River Park Reserve in Allenby Gardens strikes that perfect balance between natural beauty and practical family amenities. The riverside setting provides a genuinely peaceful backdrop for a barbecue, though you'll need to bring your own equipment as this is more of a picnic-friendly space. The playground keeps the kids thoroughly entertained with well-maintained slides and swings, while the walking trails offer adults a chance to stretch their legs along the river. Sports enthusiasts will appreciate the tennis, basketball, and netball courts, though with only one tennis court, you might find yourself waiting during busy periods. What impressed me most was the thoughtful layout - picnic benches are positioned to catch the sun while keeping an eye on the playground. The river views add genuine charm to lunch, and the walking trails make it easy to work off that second helping of snags.
